Nevertheless, even if all precautions are taken, ageing is still inevitable. When faced with ageing problems, the first action we take is using cosmetic products. For the issues that we cannot solve with such products, facial plastic surgery offers many operations and non-surgical procedures. The general name for all face operations “facial rejuvenation procedures”.
The purpose of facial rejuvenation processes is not to put people in a different shape. The reason why many healthy people are afraid of facial surgeries is the mispractices they see around them. With the plastic surgery procedures in accordance with the method and dosage, softer and beautiful ageing is possible. These operations aim to eliminate the incompatibility between the soul and the body.
When you need facial plastic surgery?
In a good looking face, there is a slight protrusion above the cheekbones at the top of the cheeks and a slight indentation just below it. This chin gives the face an oval and nice shape. However, with time, gravity begins to pull down the formations on the face.
These impacts cause wrinkles, deep lines between the two eyebrows, downward displacement of the outer part of the eyebrows, and eyelids begin to pile. Facial plastic surgery is suitable for those:
- who think that their cheeks, forehead have been displaced downward, and their face has lost its ovality.
- whose eyebrows and eyes are low due to congenital features
- who believe that their cheeks and foreheads do not have roundness and dislocation, which gives a dynamic and pleasant look to the face.
Of course, it is possible to have facial plastic surgery due to various reasons. You should consult our doctors about the problem and possible solutions.

As the human ages, sun rays, daily stresses and other factors (smoking, drinking, malnutrition), the facial skin sags and various spots and irregularities occur on it. The skin lost its vitality, and it becomes thinner and wrinkled.
With the help of face lift and renewal surgeries, sagging and irregularities on the skin of the face and neck become invisible. Moreover, they remove excess fat tissue on the cheek, correct facial fascia and fatty tissues according to their anatomical places, and reinforce the facial muscles. Other complementary interventions are also possible (such as peeling, peeling, filling and botox).

After the Surgery
The early period after surgery usually passes on at ease. The good thing is you will not feel any pain or discomfort throughout the process. Since facial nerves may be slightly affected by anaesthesia during the operation, there may be slight asymmetries on the face. These will disappear within 3-5 days. Hair can be washed during this period.
As age gets older, the skin of the neck becomes more abundant and starts sagging. Thus, the angle between the neck and the chin disappears. Those who gain and lose a lot of weight these problems occur earlier in the skin under the neck. At this point, having a neck lift operation is a permanent solution.
How do you decide on neck surgery?
Generally, women over the age of 55 show obvious signs of ageing in the face and neck. Neck muscles start to get loose, and the skin under the chin becomes more visible. When you can observe these findings, doctors apply neck stretching processes for a more healthy-looking neck.
Before the neck lift surgery
Aspirin-like medications that may increase bleeding should be discontinued before neck lift surgery. Smoking should be stopped 3 weeks before surgery. Since the hair cannot be dyed for 1 month after surgery, it can be dyed 1 week in advance. Keeping the hair length will be beneficial in concealing the dressings used after surgery.
During the operation
In neck lift surgery, an incision extends from in front of the ear to the earlobe and rotates behind the ear. Skin is removed and sutured in front of and behind the ear. If there is a fat accumulation in the jowl area under the chin, it is removed with liposuction. The vertical bands in the neck region are released with a 3-4 cm horizontal incision to form an inner corset.
After the neck lift surgery
Surgical incisions are not noticeable as they are made along natural skin folds, hiding behind the ear and inside the scalp.
Postoperative ice application accelerates the healing process. You can take a bath 2 days after surgery. It is highly typical to have an insensitivity that recovers within about a few weeks. Avoid heavy exercises such as sexual intercourse and heavy housework for at least two weeks. Sunscreen creams should be used regularly for up to 6 months. Eventually, you can usually return to work in the 2nd week.
When talking about the signs of ageing on the face, it is necessary to think of the face as a whole. In the 50s, both the abundance in the skin increases and eyelid becomes more evident. This natural process starts to become apparent, depending on the genetic features of the family.
Just as the signs of ageing in the upper eyelid are associated with ageing on the forehead, the signs of ageing in the lower eyelid are associated with the cheeks. In the 40s, the adipose tissue on the cheek starts to move downwards with the effect of gravity. This situation manifests itself in the lower eyelid. With the thinning of the eyelid skin, the fat around the eye becomes more prominent as muscles lose support in front of them.
Before the eyelid surgery
Do not use aspirin and similar drugs for a week before surgery. Likewise, since herbal teas such as green tea and vitamin E have a blood-thinning effect, it is beneficial not to take them for a week before the surgery. Diseases such as high eye pressure, hypertension, thyroid diseases, dry eye are conditions that increase the risk in aesthetic eyelid surgeries. In the case of one of these chronic conditions, inform your doctor about this.
How is upper eyelid aesthetic surgery procedure?
First of all, the procedure takes place under local anaesthesia. Usually, the duration of the upper eyelid surgery does not exceed 1 hour. The amount of skin and muscle is determined by drawing the lines while the patient is sitting. Then, a small amount of them is reduced.
With the incision made just below the lower eyelid lashes, the lower eyelid skin is lifted together with the muscle. Generally, the spread of the fats over the edge of the eye helps to correct the collapse under the eyes. After the abundance of skin and muscle is removed, the muscle tissue is hung on the outer wall of the eye socket. This provides support for the eyelids. Duration of the operation varies between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the additional.
What should we pay attention to after the operation?
You can apply cold after the operation to control oedema after the procedure. Also, you must rest for the first 48 hours after the operation. From the 3rd day after the procedure, activities can be increased. After the procedure, heavy sports, oedema-increasing applications such as solarium, sauna, sunbath and steam bath should be avoided for at least 6 weeks. This makes the ear open outward. This is more evident, especially when from behind.
Are there different types in the ear deformity?
Depending on the degree of ear angle with the head and the degree of flattening, different types of ear deformity are possible. This situation sometimes happens in one ear. Sometimes it occurs symmetrically in both ears.
During the surgery
Ear surgeries could be performed under general anaesthesia at a young age. In adult ages, it can be performed under local anaesthesia. On average, the surgery takes about 1.5 hours.
Ear aesthetics usually start with the removal of a spindle-shaped skin piece behind the auricle. Cartilage is filed and brought to a consistency to curl from the appropriate areas. The angle between the ear and the head is narrowed by stitches between the ear base and head bone membrane.
After the operation
One day after aesthetic ear surgery, patients wear a hairband that is not too tight to cover the entire ear. In this way, the load on the sutures that hold the cartilage. Cartilage hardens and heals in its new position. Another function of the headband is to prevent oedema in the first days after ear aesthetics. It also helps you save the ear from contacting the pillow while sleeping.
